Finding Your vision with cindy jackson at integrated health and wellness

Happenings: Can you share a bit about your background and how you got started in the health and wellness field?

Cindy: I grew up in the area and pursued my undergraduate degree at SiuE, followed by graduate school at SLU. I became a licensed clinical social worker a few years later. Out of grad school, I started working in a physician's office, where social workers are teamed with physicians to provide holistic healthcare. This experience was eye-opening, as I quickly realized that the quality of healthcare greatly affects the quality of one's life. I observed a stark contrast between younger people facing significant health issues and older patients in their 80s and 90s who were thriving. This led me to believe that health and well-being are not destinations, but a lifelong journey.

Happenings: What is your philosophy when it comes to health and wellness?

Cindy: I believe it's important not to cast judgment on others because we don't walk in their shoes. It's about helping individuals discover their own vision for their life and guiding them to make that a reality. Health and wellness encompass much more than just physical health; it's about managing stress, nurturing relationships and fostering a balanced emotional and spiritual life. It's a holistic approach to living a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle.

Happenings: How did your personal experiences shape your approach to wellness?

Cindy: Growing up, I was fortunate to live in a household that prioritized both physical health and strong social connections. This foundation deeply influenced my core values, particularly being a steward of good health and living life to the fullest. A pivotal moment in my life was the loss of my husband at a young age. This tragic experience reinforced that we can't take life for granted and underscored the importance of living physically, emotionally and spiritually well. This understanding shapes my work today in helping others realize their full potential and vision for their lives.

Happenings: What is Integrated Health & Wellness, and how do you help people with it?

Cindy: Integrated Health & Wellness is about empowering people to create personalized, sustainable health and wellness plans. It's not about offering pre-made solutions, but about helping individuals connect with their own vision of who they want to be. It's a journey that includes physical, emotional and spiritual health, with a focus on nutrition, stress management and building meaningful relationships. I work with clients to understand their unique needs and provide guidance to achieve long-term health and happiness.

Happenings: Can you tell us about the services you offer?

Cindy: Currently, I offer one-on-one coaching sessions, available as single sessions or in three-month or six-month packages. I also offer a free discovery call to ensure that coaching is the right fit for someone's needs.

Additionally, I have a signature program called "The Vibrant Woman," which is offered privately over a three-month period. This program focuses on key areas such as stress management, nutrition, exercise and sleep. We tailor each component to the individual's specific needs to encourage an energized, vibrant outlook on life. The first step is always to become mindfully aware of where someone is and why they might not be where they want to be yet. It's not about following a rigid ten-step program; it's about making small, consistent changes that build over time.

Happenings: What is the approach you take in your coaching and programs?

Cindy: My approach is highly personalized. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution, as health and wellness are deeply individual.

People often look to social media for the "ideal" image of health and happiness, but that's not always the best measure for personal success.

I help people create customized plans that reflect their unique needs and aspirations. This helps them take ownership of their health and happiness, ultimately promoting long-term well-being and sustainability. I also work to shift the narrative on comparison and perfectionism, encouraging clients to think through these issues with compassion and objectivity.

Happenings: How can someone get started with you?

Cindy: The best way to start is by booking a free discovery call on my website. This call is crucial because it gives individuals the chance to determine if coaching is the right fit for them. During the call, we discuss their goals, I provide more information on the coaching process, and together we explore the best path forward.

Happenings: What are your plans for the future?

Cindy: In the future, I plan to offer classes alongside my one-on-one coaching. Iam always looking for new ways to help individuals reach their full potential, whether through group programs, workshops, or expanding on the services I offer. Ultimately, my goal is to help people live a life that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually fulfilling, and to equip them with the tools to sustain that over time.
